Travis Emick is a designer / developer living in San Francisco.
Current Status: Freelancing a bit :)
I am a creative and consistent individual who studied art history and information science. After teaching myself design and javascript, I'm looking for work as a front-end engineer. My favorite part of programming is the problem-solving aspect. I love the feeling of finally figuring out a solution to a problem. My core stack is React, Next.js, TypeScript, Prisma, Node.js, and MongoDB. I am always looking to learn new technologies. I am currently looking for a position as a software developer, designer, or some intersection of the two.
the Stock Market Game
A redesign of a long-running stock simulation that teaches students how to navigate the confusing space of securities trading. The redesign adds features intended for students who don't have access to faculty or parents that would normally guide them. This project is currently in the active development phase.

Bassett's Baked Goods
A vegan & gluten-free forward bakery in Pueblo, CO. To save in start-up costs for the baker, I built a custom CMS that powers a front-end shop.

the Modern Tour
An architecture tour from Palm Springs, allowing people to select packages, book tickets and display lots of information of gorgeous mid-century modern architecture.

Zeguro
I was head of design for a cybersecurity startup that specialized in analyzing infrastructure and company practices and then creating bespoke solutions to strengthen security.

Designer
As a designer, I'm drawn to the power of visual storytelling and creating meaningful user experiences; the ability to translate ideas into compelling visuals excites me, and I thrive on the process of bringing creativity and functionality together in design.
Design System Creater / Rustler / Manager
The role of a design system manager appeals to me because it involves establishing a structured framework that fosters design consistency and efficiency across projects, allowing me to play a pivotal role in streamlining workflows and ensuring a seamless user experience throughout the product ecosystem. I also love crafting UI elements in a vacuum.
Front-end Engineer
I'm enthusiastic about being a front-end engineer as it merges my passion for problem-solving with a love for creating intuitive, interactive interfaces. The prospect of using code to breathe life into designs and crafting user-friendly, responsive web applications is both challenging and immensely rewarding.
